Rosemary : Laureate Adrn Rosemary v Far Field

DOB: December 11, 2007
Sire: Am. Can. Ch. Mystic Elance Princequillo, JC (Specialty Best of Winners & multi-breed winner over group-winning special competition)
Dam: Am. Ch. Laureate Adrienne Flying First Class, JC (Specialty Best in Sweeps & Specialty Reserve Winners)
Breeders: Monica Barry (Laureate) & Jan Leikam (Adrienne)
Co-owner: Suzanne Danna-Harlan

We're delighted to acquire this pretty Archie daughter (and Laci neice)! Front assemblies, substance, balance, angulation, and sound movement are consistently strong in this litter. I chose Rosie for these qualities as well as for her buoyant personality, elegant head piece, deep hocks, and beautiful flowing outline.

At 6 months, Rosie has taken a Match Hound Group 2 and Reserve Winner's Bitch by Dana Cline (kennel mate Luna went BOB) at her very first show.

Rosie is named in tribute to and remembrance of Rosemary Gregg (? -2008) whose beautiful Crescent Borzoi are behind all 4 lines of her pedigree.

Many thanks to Archie’s mom Laura Van Diest for allowing me her stud fee puppy and to Monica Barry for raising such a beautiful, well socialized litter.

Rouge : Lovely "Rouge" (Nonsuch Moulin Rouge v Far Field) was born 2/5/07 and arrived in Baton Rouge 5/16/07. She is a nice blend of Nonsuch, Stillwater, Starborough, and Echovesna bloodlines. Some of the many things we like about this promising pup is her beautiful type, substance with elegance, long neck well set, sweeping outline with long 1st and 2nd thighs, deep hocks, a broad square rear, floating open side movement, and the very best personality. Rouge recently won her class at the Abilene TSE at 11 months; all her classes on the TSE weekend in Priceville at 9 months; her 6-9 class at the TSE in Atlanta at 7 months; and at 4 months, took a group win at her first match amidst older competition.

Rouge's sire is the dominant black spotted Ch. Nonsuch Marching Orders. "Spencer" is a blend of two top producers: "Cameron" (MBISS Am Can Ch Nonsuch Prince Charming, ROMX-C) and "Deja" (Am Ch Nonsuch Deja Vu, ROM-C). Spencer also has several outstanding sisters including my "Glory."

Rouge's dam is Specialty Best of Winners and Group placing Ch. Nonsuch Wind Chill. "Chilly" is by BISS Starborough Simeon, a son of the outstanding English National Ch. Starborough Sharmanka bred by Lorraine Marchant (Starborough).

Rouge was bred by Karen & Kalen Dumke (Nonsuch). We are delighted to have this promising girl at Far Field.

Luna : Beautiful Luna (Nonsuch Lac Du Lune v Far Field) was born 12/10/05 and is an incredibly outgoing, entertaining, and promising puppy. Her exotic looks, an elegant frame, long, clean legs, short hocks, good shoulders, a beautiful cadenced and open gait plus oodles of charm make her a very attractive addition. This young girl is also very fast and agile shows interest in the lure.

She is line bred on BIS & Multi-specialty winner Am Ch Nonsuch Gigolo and Am Ch Falkenar Sunbarr Scandal, ROM-C. I find her to specifically resemble her maternal grand-sire BISS Am Ch Nonsuch Smooth Operator.

Zulu : Timatuck Khanzade Zulu King, aka "Zulu" is my fun-loving boy from an exceptionally successful repeat breeding containing specialty and group winners. Laid back and easy going, he’s matured into a solid citizen with a beautiful outline, smooth, driving movement, a lovely coat and furnishings, full mouth, and good substance. He is a very balanced dog who naturally self stacks.

Zulu has an impressive pedigree. He is line bred on the successful Kaitar x Monsoon cross thru MBISS Am Ch Nonsuch the Talisman, ROM-C and Am Ch Nonsuch Knockout at Zadira (one of my favorite Nonsuch bitches). He is doubled up on BISS AmCan Ch POSH Echovesna’s Islaev, ROMX-C top and bottom and a great grandson of the top producing Sly son, MBISS AmCan Ch Kyrov’s Crescendo, ROMX-C. According to Rosemary Greg, Zulu strongly resembles Am Ch Crescents Zak of Windswept (a Glace son) who figures heavily in the tail female line.

Recognized by 7 different breeder-judges, Zulu was most recently awarded RW both days of the September 07 TSE in Atlanta; Reserve Winners at the 2006 Rocky Mountain Borzoi Club Fall Specialty, and took a 4 point major over top-ranked, specialty-winners in Colorado 9/06. Additionally, he was Winners at the Borzoi Club of America Trophy Supported Entry at Cypress Creek KC of Texas from the 12-18 class, earned Sweeps and Regular class placements at the 2005 BCOA National, and points from the puppy classes.

Z is extremely prey driven but the plastic lure doesn't click. He is just a joy to have and i can only fault him on his lock picking and houdini ways.

Laci : Am. Can. Ch. Elance Mystic Risque Blue, JC

I’m thrilled to obtain this lovely sable Canadian from Elance. Laci is a substantive girl with balanced angulation, short hocks, a full mouth, scissors bite, good length of neck well set on, tiny, high ears on a beautiful veined head, excellent shoulder, oodles of pigment, and solid gaits.

Laci made a great first impression by taking Best of Breed over four specials (including a top 5 special, RMBC specialty BOB & WD) for a 4 point major and then a 2nd major the next day— all within 3 days of getting off a plane from Calgary in September of 2006. What a rock-solid temperament taking everything in stride. Sparingly shown since, she completed her Am. Championship with a bang by taking her 3rd major—4 points—by going Best of Winners in January of 2008.

This pretty girl was accomplished prior to coming to the states having taken a Group 3rd her first time out as a Canadian special, Best of Breed at the Alberta Sporting Hound Specialty, and an Award of Merit at the Canadian Nationals.

Laci’s real passion is for the lure. She was ASFA pointed in Canada and easily acquired her AKC Junior Courser title. She currently lacks 1 leg towards a Senior Courser title.

We are hoping for Laci puppies early 2008! Check details at http://web.mac.com/veniharlan/iWeb/FarField/Future.html

Glory : Nonsuch Morning Glory CGC, aka "Glory" is as lovely as her name. She epitomizes correct type, structure, and excells in movement. Her elegant 29"/70# frame literally floats. Glory has a full mouth, scissor's bite, loads of pigment, roman finish, and high set ears. She is very agile, fast, and possesses a keen prey drive. (Unfortunately she realizes mid-course the little white thing is plastic and not a real bunny!) She has schooled in agility and helped her dam take 3rd in the competitive brood bitch class at the 2002 BCOA Nationals. Currently one major short of her conformation title with multiple major reserves to her credit. An affectionate girl, she is also gifted with the most cheerful attitude and intelligence.

Bred by Karen & Kalen Dumke, Nonsuch
By MBISS Am.Can.Ch. Nonsuch Prince Charming ROMX-C and out of the beautiful Ch. Stillwater James daughter, Ch. Nonsuch Deja Vu ROM-C

Mardi Gras : We call Mardi the “it” girl. She does it all...!

A small but mighty blue-eyed over-achiever, Mardi is my first Cardigan Welsh Corgi and what a great impression she has made. This girl has beautiful expression, lovely type, ground covering movement, correct coat, superb temperament, and fabulous well-shaped ears! Mardi has a natural instinct for sheep and enthusiastically gained her Herding Tested title in one weekend. (Many thanks to our herding instructor Shelly Spotswood). At the coursing field, Mardi has put many a sight hound to shame with her intense drive and follow. And what great entertainment with those little legs flying! She’s also a frequent artist’s model, parade goer, public outreach ambassador, Borzoi herder/trainer, and is instructing me in Rally. Mardi also added "juniors" to her extensive résumé by taking my nephew Chuck into the ring.

In 2006, Mardi earned back-to-back 4 point majors the weekend of the Bluebonnet Cardigan Welsh Corgi Club Specialty (one of which was Cardigan Welsh Corgi Club of America Trophy Supported). Unfortunately, we missed the Specialty day ring by taking a wrong turn in Houston! Mardi returned to Houston for the 07 Specialty and went Reserve Winners to a 4 point major on Sunday and took a placement Saturday in the huge open class. In December of 2007, Mardi took breed twice from the classes and another major reserve. She currently lacks 3 singles to complete her conformation title.

Mardi was bred by Rita Hellegers, Cornerstone

Chance : vh Chances Are+ is a purebred Arabian gelding by the double *Salon son, Ponomarev, out of the *Marsianin daughter, zf Peacock. Bred by KEG Arabians and born 3/25/88. I acquired this wonderful boy "by chance" at a bankruptcy auction for $275. Lucky me! Chance is a spirited and atheletic horse with the kindest people loving personality. His show record includes an IAHA regional top 5 in hunt seat and Reserve Championship in Training level dressage, AHSA top 7, IAHA Legion of Honor, USDF Performance certified for Training level, 2 scores short of a USDF Performance certification for First Level, Qualifications for ABIC/SWDC Championships, SEDA awards, and many nice wins in open dressage competition. Chance has also done his share of Leadline classes with my young nephew. He has been featured in the Southdown's Journal, AHSA's "Dover Adult Amateur" column, and IAHA's "International Arabian." When we retired from competitive dressage Chance was scoring in the 60's at 2nd level. Still in super shape, Chance competed successfully at 4th level on his 18th birthday! He's a once-in-a-lifetime horse and I feel fortunate to have him in my life.

Archie : Am. Can. Ch. Mystic Elance Princequillo, JC

I first saw Archie at the Borzoi Club of America National in Olympia, Washington where he made the cut in a very tough open class. Already a multiple breed winner over group-winning special competition, he went Winner’s Dog 3 days after leaving his home in Alaska. Archie finished his American conformation title by going Best of Winners for a 4 point major on a BCOA Trophy Supported weekend and Best of Winners for a 3 point major.

This boy also likes to run and earned ASFA (American Sighthound Field Association) points his first time out and an AKC Junior Courser title plus 1 leg towards his Sr. Courser in one weekend.

He’s a Borzoi with a beautiful line-bred pedigree, presence, depth of quality, good substance, balanced angulation, excellent shoulder, tons of elegance, ground covering movement, plus an in-your-pocket personality.

Many thanks to Laura Van Diest for allowing Archie a southern sojourn.

Stormy : Nonsuch Queen of Storms CGC [April 16, 1993 — July 15, 2006] Stormy was sired by English import Olias King Crimson of Stonebar out of Ch. Nonsuch Torrential, a Kaitar/Monsoon daughter. Storm was the Borzoi I learned to show on. Acquired when she was 2, we didn't make it into the ring until she was 4 1/2. Shown very sparingly, Storm singled out with 3 major reserves before retiring from the ring at 6. She had the most gorgeous coat and fringe and a very classic look. Storm was a leaner, a model, and queen of the house. And this beautiful, sweet soul is dearly missed.

Singer : Ch. Nonsuch Song Sparrow CGC was bred by Karen and Kalen Dumke of Nonsuch and is by MBISS Am. Can. Ch. Nonsuch Prince Charming ROMX-C and out of Specialty winning Am. Can. Ch. Nonsuch Phoebe. Very much my heart dog...Singer finished quickly (all owner handled) at just over 2 years with back-to-back 4 point majors. He was an impressive male with floating movement, beautiful type, and good substance. Singer was also a big smooch and smiler, loved his toys, and was confident he was my lap dog. Occasionally specialed, Sing went BOB owner-handled over top-5, professionally handled special competition. We were working towards a Rally title before his untimely and sudden death due to hemangiosarcoma. Sleep well sweet Singer. You are missed.

Katrina : Animals displaced by Hurricane Katrina and sheltered at the LSU Coliseum and the Lamar-Dixon center. They were cared for and aided by the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine doctors, students, community volunteers; the LA SPCA; BRAVMA; the EBR Parish Animal Control; the HSUS; LA Department of Agriculture & Forestry; LA Veterinary Medical Asso.; USDA:APHIS Veterinary Services; VMAT (Veterinary Medical Assistance Teams); Cajun Clickers Computer Club; the US Public Health Service; many other organizations; and thousands of wonderful volunteers. The goals were to 1) rescue as many animals as possible, 2) treat, vaccinate, disinfect, comfort, and chip, 3) list pets on Petfinder.com, 4) reunite pets with owners, and 5) adopt unclaimed animals into loving homes. No animals were euthanized unless medically necessary.

I do not have specific info on any animals photographed except where noted.

Thank you for supporting the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine by donating at www.vetmed.lsu.edu. You may designate the specific animals you wish to aid (dog/cat/horse/exotic).
